Home and Community-Based Services

HCBS (Home and Community-Based Services – Office of Developmental Programs)

MATAI provides person-centered supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or
autism, in accordance with Pennsylvania ODP waivers and Individual Support Plans (ISPs).

HCBS Services Include:

Companion Services

  • Non-medical care, supervision, and socialization
  • Support to ensure health, safety, and emotional well-being
  • Assistance with daily routines in home and community settings

In-Home and Community Support

  • Skill-building to promote independence in daily living
  • Support with community participation and inclusion
  • Assistance with communication, social skills, and self-advocacy
  • Support aligned with ISP goals

Respite Care

  • Temporary relief for primary caregivers
  • Short-term care provided in the individual’s home or community
  • Ensures continuity of care while preventing caregiver burnout

Community Participation Support

  • Facilitation of meaningful community involvement
  • Support with employment readiness, volunteering, and social activities
  • Transportation assistance related to community engagement (as authorized)
